Emotional distress and ongoing mental health challenges do not have to run your life. Our mental health treatment programs give adults the structure, support, and clinical care needed to find real stability. Care includes a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and a standard outpatient program (OP). Each one offers a different level of support, so you can choose what fits your life right now. At Holgate, our programs combine evidence-based therapies with individualized treatment plans, all inside a supportive environment built for real healing. Reach out today to see how we can help.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers a highly structured day program for adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health symptoms. It provides the stability of a clinical setting while allowing clients to return home each evening, balancing intensive care with personal independence. During PHP, clients take part in a full schedule of sessions each day. Treatment combines individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric medication management, and skills-based learning focused on emotional regulation and coping.
Our approach addresses the underlying causes of distress, not just symptoms. Doing so helps clients build resilience, self-awareness, and healthy coping skills for the long run. Common therapies used in PHP include:
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Trauma Therapy
- Psychoeducation and Relapse Prevention Skills
Clients in PHP benefit from an immersive environment where clinicians and peers understand exactly what they’re going through. Support does not stop when the day’s sessions end, since progress carries over from one session to the next. Many clients step down to IOP once symptoms are more manageable and less daily structure is needed. PHP is one part of our broader mental health treatment programs, built to meet you at whatever level of care you need right now.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a flexible yet structured level of care. It’s built for adults who need ongoing support but are ready for more independence. IOP meets several days a week for a few hours each day. Clients continue work, family, or school while getting focused care. It bridges the gap between more intensive treatment and traditional outpatient therapy.
Treatment in IOP combines group therapy, individual sessions, and skills training. These help clients manage symptoms, build emotional regulation, and maintain earlier progress. IOP emphasizes:
- Learning and practicing new coping strategies
- Strengthening communication and interpersonal skills
- Identifying triggers and preventing relapse
- Building a supportive community of peers
The goal of our mental health treatment programs is to help clients live confidently and independently with structured clinical support. Many clients continue building on these skills well after IOP ends, carrying them into work, relationships, and everyday routines. Others use IOP as a bridge before stepping down to a lighter level of care, like OP. Either way, progress is measured by how well the skills hold up outside of session, not just how symptoms look on paper.
Outpatient Program (OP)
Our outpatient program (OP) is the most flexible level of care. It’s built for adults who need more structure than weekly therapy but not the daily commitment of PHP or IOP. Clients attend regular sessions each week while maintaining their normal schedule. Treatment includes individual therapy and group sessions depending on the client’s plan. OP often serves as a step-down for clients completing IOP.
